I am excited to share my incredible day trip to Ninh Binh in Vietnam with all of you. If you are planning a visit to Hanoi, make sure to set aside a day or two to explore this beautiful destination.
Now, I must admit, I was not fully prepared for this trip. But sometimes, the best experiences happen when you least expect them, right? So off I went on my adventure!
If you want to witness the beauty and excitement of my journey to Ninh Binh in real-time, make sure to check out my travel vlog. Be ready for an immersive experience that will transport you right into the heart of this incredible destination!
My first stop was Hoa Lu, where I embarked on a heritage walk. This place is steeped in history, and I was mesmerized by the ancient temples of previous kings. Exploring the rich cultural heritage of the area was truly fascinating. And guess what? The tour company even arranged bicycles for us to explore the surroundings and ride bicycles on the banks of the Hoang Long (Golden Dragon) River for around 20-30 minutes. It was such a fun and unique way to soak in the beauty of Hoa Lu.
Lunch break: After working up an appetite, I had lunch at the same location. Now, being an Indian, I must say that the food did not quite suit my palate. It was a bit flat in terms of flavours, lacking the spices and salt I am used to. But hey, trying new cuisines is all part of the adventure, right?
Next up, I headed to Tam Coc for a boat ride, and oh my, the beauty I witnessed was beyond my wildest imagination. The boat ride lasted for about 1 hour and 10 minutes, but the serene surroundings and breathtaking landscapes made time stand still. The lush greenery on both sides, the mesmerizing caves I passed through – it was like a dream come true.
The last leg of my journey took me to Mua Caves, Also known as Hang Mua. It was a 1-kilometer hike, which, to be honest, took me around 30 minutes to complete. But let me tell you, the view from the top was absolutely worth it! I was left speechless as I stood on the mountain peak, taking in the panoramic vista. Trust me, Mua Caves is a must-visit spot when you are exploring Ninh Binh.
Now, I must admit, I would have loved to spend more time exploring Mua Caves, but since I was on a group tour, I had to head back after spending just an hour at the viewpoint. But hey, that is the beauty of travel – it leaves you craving for more and gives you a reason to plan a return trip!
So, here is my advice to all you fellow travellers: Instead of just going for a day trip to Ninh Binh, consider staying there for a few days and exploring one place at a time. Trust me, you will not regret it.
Ninh Binh offers a plethora of natural wonders, cultural treasures, and unforgettable experiences that deserve to be savored and appreciated.
